conquered the treadmill

Ahh, the whole weekend off, it's about time. Now I just need to organize my life, which really means the mound of paperwork on my desk...where did it come from? I woke up at 8am and headed to the gym this morning...wow, I am a keener. Actually I'm really a slacker in disguise, although I was proud of myself considering it was Saturday morning. Good work out....I love those, where I don't avoid the hard stuff....lunges...I haven't done those in ages. Mainly because the burn that is felt the day after is a distraction at work. But I did a whole whack of them. Done and done. And then I did a bunch of other weights because I love them, none of these automized (is that a word) machines. Down with those. Then at the very end I had a choice of which cardio to do. That's when I conquered the treadmill. I typically use the treadmill for walking at the highest incline possible for about 10mins as a warm up. But today I went for a jog, that turned into a run. Now this is a big deal, since I hate jogging/running. How I ever participated in track & cross country running is a mystery to me. Not too mention soccer and rugby...hmm, strange. I would rather bike, swim, walk, go on a hike, anything other than running. Running is for suckers..actually that's not true, although it's a pretty high impact comparatively, and I once had a pretty severe knee injury once upon a time, so choose to do other things. Anyhow, I was stoked that I went for it today, and in fact I think I'll do it again tomorrow. Stepping out of ye olde comfort zone was refreshing, I recommend it.
I'm in charge of dinner tonight...I'm thinking pasta with some kind of pesto sauce (I LOVE PESTO), and baked Camembert in phylo pastry with strawberries (I HEART THIS TOO), and some other things. We'll see how it goes. Procrastination station is done for today. Only 17 days until I leave for RRC. Wowzers how time flies.
Peace y'alls ;-)

As I predicted, my legs hurt and I should have stretched more, but I didn't...aww well, it's the good kind of pain, the post workout kind, but alas, I will try to stretch like a maniac tomorrow.
