you raise me up

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
when troubles come and my heart burdened be;
then I am still and wait here in the silence,
until You come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up so I can stand on mountains.
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas.
I am strong when I am on Your shoulders.
You raise me up to more than I can be.

There is no life, no life without its hunger.
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly.
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
sometimes I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up so I can stand on mountains.
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas.
I am strong when I am on Your shoulders.
You raise me up to more than I can be.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

the last few days have been a bit tough. at the end of each work day, i feel as if i can't do it all again tomorrow. tonight at choir we practiced "You Raise Me Up". part of how i was feeling coincided with the lyrics of this song. it's a beautiful song (challenging to practice), and God used it to speak into the weary parts of me. just a disclaimer, i'm not down and out and completely at the end of my rope, walking around sad and dejected.. there have been many blessings this week too. many in fact. i'm just tired and soooo looking forward to the weekend, cuz after ten days straight, i need one.
