are you excited?

tomorrow I leave to work at a camp called rockridge canyon. when i say work, what i mean is volunteer. i am volunteering for three weeks on what is called "summer staff". i can't believe that this time tomorrow i will be there. throughout the upcoming weeks, friends have asked me if i am excited. sure i am. i'm the type of person though, whose excitement is more internal, and less in your face. but it is so obvious that when they ask, they're looking for that outward excitement. and i definitely feel a weird sense that when i tell them "yes i am", in my mellow way, that somehow they didn't get the response they were wanting. i'm okay with that though. because i am excited...hey did you catch that? EXCITED!! i get to be in a beautiful place, serve God, loving the people around me as best i can, and it'll be an adventure. i fully expect that there will be challenges, a few bumps along the road, and no doubt i will become teary-eyed a handful of times (as is my custom). alright, time to finish packing. if i can accomplish this before 8 o'clock pm, that will be a record.
